Storyline: Written and directed by Casper Christensen and Art Hines, “Robots” is based on Robert Schechley’s 1978 collection of short stories titled “The Robot Who Looked Like Me.” Charles Cameron is a narcissistic ladies man who only wants to date women for sex. After Charles gets what he wants, he suddenly abandons the women and cuts off all contact with them. He uses his automated machine called C2 to lure women and go on dates with them. When the relationship progresses and it is time for intimacy, it replaces C2. Meanwhile, Elaine is a high-financeing gold digger women who only dates men for money. Elaine uses her robot for the opposite reason: she doesn’t want to have sex with those men for money. Woodley and Whitehall also introduced the robot counterparts of Elaine and Charles.
