Storyline: The Long Game tells the story of a group of teenage Mexican Americans who face numerous challenges as they strive to win in the history of golf. The narrative begins in 1956 in Del Rio, Texas, where JB Peña, the superintendent, applies for membership at the exclusive Del Rio Country Club, which is exclusively for white individuals. Despite his best efforts, it becomes evident that his race is the sole reason for his rejection. However, Peña soon becomes acquainted with a group of teenagers who play golf at his high school. With the support of his loyal companion, Frank, who is also a former military buddy, Peña establishes The Mustangs, a high school golf club. He dedicates himself to giving these young individuals a fighting chance in a world that does not readily embrace them.
